2- Hand-washing Fuzzy Crocs with Mild Detergent & Water

According to Crocs, you should gently clean with warm water and mild soap to remove dirt, debris, or stains. Then, allow them to air dry completely.

Even though the fuzzy lining can be removed from some kinds of crocs, throwing fuzzy crocs in the washer is not a great idea. It can damage the entire lining. However, they can still be either hand-washed or hand-cleaned.

Do not use boiling or hot water, and do not use harsh chemicals or detergents.

Here is what to do:

  1. Mix a small amount of detergent in a tub, bucket, bowl, or basin of warm, room-temperature or cool water.
  2. Submerge your pre-brushed crocs (and the lining if it was removed) in the solution and let them soak for 1-2 hours.
  3. Then, remove each croc and use a soft-bristled brush to scrub around the shoes and the exterior of the lining if it was removable.
  4. Use a toothbrush to brush the fur on the inside of the lining. Focus on any tough stains or areas that need extra cleaning.
  5. When you are finished, rinse the crocs (and the lining) off using clean, cool water. Make sure to wash all of the soapy residues out of the fur.
  6. Place the shoes (and the lining) in an open space (out of direct sunlight) in an elevated position (helps the water to drain out of the material).
  7. Let your crocs (and the lining) completely air dry.
  8. Make sure that the fur on the inside is dry all the way through, especially in the toe area. You can use a blow dryer on the warm setting to also help dry the insides.

  3. Then sprinkle some baking soda all over the insides of the fur-lined shoes. Spread it so that it coats all over the fur.

Tips To Keep The Smell Out Of Your Fuzzy Crocs

Here are a few things you can do to keep your fuzzy crocs smelling good:

1- Avoid getting them wet

Wet fur is a breeding ground for odor-causing bacteria and fungi. Always keep your fur-lined crocs as dry as possible. Even from your feet sweat.

Air them out as often as you can (whenever you are not wearing them) and if you wash them, make sure that they dry completely.

2- Clean them as often as possible

Dirt, sweat, dead skin cells from your feet and bacteria will build up in the fur of your crocs over time. To avoid this, clean them as often as possible, especially if you sweat a lot. This will help to prevent odor.

3- Take care of your feet

A great way to prevent odor is to take care of your feet and your toenails. This will help with sweating and skin shedding, which can contribute to shoe odor over time.

4- Use baking soda

Baking soda is a well-known deodorizer. Every time you use your shoes, sprinkle some in them and let them do its magic.

5- Use dry teabags

Dry tea bags will absorb moisture and odor while also giving your shoes and the fur a pleasant scent. Use a flavor teabag that you like and place 2-3 in each of your crocs after you wear them.
